Help Titanium Backup not working after 2.2 upgrade

I upgraded my Captivate today using SuperOneClick and did not have any issues. I then downloaded Titanium Backup. When asking for root rights, it said it could not acquire root privileges and to verify that my ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox. I then downloaded BusyBox Installer from the market and when I ran the installer, it would say "please wait while we locate BusyBox and gather system data." I then ran Titanium Backup again, but nothing changed.

As a last resort, I opened Titanium Backup, clicked on Problems and then Get BusyBox. It downloaded BusyBox, but it always stopped and failed.

Any thoughts?

First, welcome!

There have been times when Titanium's install of its favorite flavor of BusyBox stopped mid-stream for me. I suggest that you uninstall Titanium, re-download it, install, and try hitting the Problems button again. A reboot can't hurt before firing up your fresh Titanium download. It'll eventually work.

While I'm here, let me comment on some important Titanium-related issues.

1. If you don't have an external micro SD card installed, buy one and install it.
2. Once it's installed, advise Titanium to store its backups on that card. The path for Froyo is external_sd/titaniumBackup. You don't want to store your backups on the phone itself.
3. There is a Titanium preference "App processing mode." Save yourself future headaches by selecting the second choice "AUTO, Indirect."

There. My good deed for the day.
