Root Titanium Backup Problem

YPA

Newbie
I've just bought TB and I've backed up all my apps and data.

Every time I try out the Market Doctor I get this error:

Market Doctor has found no recoverable Market link.

Any idea what's going on because until I sort this out I don't want to load a ROM as I don't want the hassle of re-downloading everything again.

What do you think market doctor does? It's meant as a tool for attaching installed apps to the market; it checks to make sure all your currently installed apps are listed in the market so that you recieve updates. The good news is that, if it found no recoverable links, all of your apps that can be linked to the market already are :)

You do not need to run it as part of the backup process when switching ROMs.

All you need to do is:
- On your original ROM, make a backup of all your current apps. By default, the backup includes the market link for that app.
- Flash the new ROM.
- Restore all your backups on the new ROM. All the apps will be restored with their market links, meaning your market's download list will look just the same as it did on your old ROM.

You can of course run the market doctor after a new ROM install to make sure all your market links are in order, although it's by no means necessary.

This is not necessarily true always. I currently have a problem where market doctor says it found no recoverable links, however the market app only shows my paid apps and not the other 100+ free apps that i have installed on my phone. Do you know of another option? I have tried clearing the app data for the market and rebooting and that doesn't help either. I have also tried wiping the Dalvik cache but that does nothing as well.

I've come across a similar situation a few times. In my case, it was because the market list hadn't been updated and was inaccurate. Installing a new app or two, or anything to make the app list refresh, seems to make it display everything accurately.

Does that help with your phone at all?

Another solution to issues with the market post rom install is to delete the Android_Secure and LOST.DIR folders on the SD card and reboot.
