Root Titanium Backup question

When you do multiple backups through Titanium, how are the files saved on the SD card? If I do a backup, download a few more apps, then backup again, does it add to the existing backup or create an entirely new backup file?

The reason I ask is that my SD card is filling up rapidly and I'm not really sure why.

Thanks for the quick replies. I deleted my nandroid backups that aren't vital, so I'm still not too sure what it could be. Guess ill have to do some more digging.

How many did you delete? And it didn't make a big difference? The increase in card space probably won't be seen until you exit your file manager and then go back in.

I found the backups (nandroid, not titanium) were eating up my SD, so I just bought a 16GB. Also, if you havent used titanium, buy the premium. When you restore, you wont have to click permisions for each app, it is a 1 click restore!

This is a real shot in the dark, but how are you deleting those files? If it involves mounting the SD via USB, what OS are you using?
