Titanium Backup Restore Fail after following instructions

I apologize if this has already been answered somehere else, but I am on my Transformer which I love, but is painfully slow and unresponsive with web browsers (including user installed browsers). Anyway, I recently rooted my Samsung Fascinate, and it is like an entire new device that is amazingly fast after uninstalling all the crapware. I am using Titanium Backup Pro and backed up all of my apps prior to uninstalling them. It appears that I accidentally uninstalled my clock app thinking it was one of the Samsung widgets, and I cannot restore it. Apparently this is a common problem with Titanium Backup. Everything I found online said to go to preferences and set App Processing to 'Auto, Indirect'. I paid the $7 for the pro version, did this, and nothing. When I try to restore, it comes up with "App Restoring" and just stays there indefinitely. I've let it run for up to a half hour just to be sure it wasn't just slow. This seems to be the same with all of the system apps i uninstalled, but the user apps restore fine. I've emailed Titanium, and have not received any response. I am tech savvy, but fairly new to the Android rooting and custom ROMs. I am using the stock ROM btw. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, i've the same problem on a Samsung i9001.
Backup, uninstall and restore of user apps are ok.
Backup and uninstall of system apps are ok - restore FAIL.
Is there a solution or any progress?
The Titanium support has obvious no answer.

I would recommend freezing apps first if you are unsure of what to uninstall. This way if you freeze the app and find that the app is needed then unfreeze;)

Did you make a nandroid first before uninstalling specific apps? Maybe restore the nandroid

Tried the Problems? button in Titanium - might need the SU app updated.

Have to confess I never restore (or backup) system apps as it causes problems between different ROMs (flash a few now and then), only user apps. Although I'd have thought it would have been ok if all you've done is root the stock ROM. What colour is the listing in Titanium? - if it's white its a user app and should restore ok. Otherwise as andygu3 said nandroid, or fresh download from market or sideload via adb maybe?
