Root Titanium Backup

I am sure this has been addressed somewhere, but I can't find it. I just did the whole root and rom thing, but before I did I used titanium backup and backed up everything, twice. Now that the new rom is installed tibu is saying that there is nothing to restore. What did I do wrong? All the how-to threads make it sound easy.... I have not found anything about this flashing business easy so far.

You need to set the backup folder in preferences. Did you save it to your external sd card? If you did, the path is external_sd/TitaniumBackup. Go into Menu/preferences and you'll find where to put it in there.

I did not change anything before I backed up, so I assume the default is the internal card which got wiped with a master clear, right?

Most likely, unfortunately. That's why they say to copy the backup to the SD card, and take the SD card out while doing procedures like rooting or installing a custom ROM.

ya, even if I took it out I would not have realized it was not there. The only thing that kind of sucks is I lost my passwords in my password app (I have them all on paper somewhere) and all the nicknames in my contact list. Oh well, I will know for next time.

Well, they won't give you a refund, they'll call it user error.

Are you keeping your contacts only on your phone? I synch mine with the cloud, I lost them too many times in all my upgrading and fooling around, I gave in. It's easier, that way you always have them available.
