Help TMo LG Optimus F3 - microSD card unstable when device gets warm?

I have a rooted, unlocked TMo LG Optimus F3. Sometimes when the device gets too warm, I have problems with the microSD card. Basically it unmounts itself and then either (a) remounts itself and the device has to go through the usual scanning media process (chewing up my battery), or (b) doesn't remount. The first time this happened I think I might have been hanging out on the beach, but it also happens whenever I am using the phone for any extended period of time (e.g. streaming video or surfing the web). Tried two different microSD cards, Kingston and Sandisk.

Anyone else experiencing the same? Any idea what is causing this?

I had the same problem several months back. My phone does get hot sometimes when I run a lot of apps. My microSD kept on unmounting and not remounting and since I had a bunch of my apps on my microSD, most of the apps on my phone failed to work due to this. Unfortunately, the cause of my problem was that my microSD card was dying because one morning when I tried to remount the card, the phone wouldn't recognize it. In addition, when I plugged the card into my computer, the card wouldn't show up on the disk manager. I replaced my old microSD with a new one and there seems to be no problem at the moment. I'm trying to keep the phone from "overheating".

So your microSD card could be affected by the heat of your device? However, that's just my thoughts.
