Help to bean, or not to bean

I like my phone. Bought new about 3 months ago, stock ICS. I use my phone, well, as a phone. I send a few texts, play a few games, (simple ones), and talk on it. And I actually do all of these things a lot less than the average person.
But now there's something new. Something tempting. Something that all the other kids have, and I don't. But I could have it. Oh yes, I could have it. I went so far as to upgrade Kies and plug the damn thing up. Then I thought, maybe I should see what the world wide opinion is. And all I see is post after post saying that Jelly Bean sucks battery like a vampire that's been suddenly set free after a thousand years of captivity.

Then I look to see what JB actually does. It has Google now, syncs this with that and helps you plan your life by learning every thing about you and supplying you with a series of never ending popups and suggestions. They market the pop ups as cards, but they look like pop ups to me, and I've been using pop up blockers for years, for a reason.

Wait a minute. That's what all the hype is over??? Google freaking now? Google Chrome? I hate Chrome. I don't even use +1, whatever that is.

I see the words 'buttery smooth', yet mine is already as smooth as silk. It's faster, they say. Hell, maybe I'm old, but mine already acts nearly instantly, and that's pretty fast.

So, after all this, do I really want it?

Probably. Just worried about the whole vampire battery thing.

How hard is it to revert if I hate it? Simple like a factory reset, or do I have to do 14 different steps?

Anyone tried to reverse it yet? I see a few posts that say it's impossible. But there is not much with today's tech that is impossible. So I doubt that!

I haven't tried to go back to ICS but it should be relatively simple using the Odin guide posted in the all things root section of our forum.

I agree with you about ICS being great already. I'm more into Jellybean for the new settings options thsn google now, chrome or +1 (I don't use any of that personally). Judging from your described usage patterns you'll probably not experience the battery drain issue people are talking about. I think it mostly affects people who are online a lot on their phones.

If you're fine with ICS, stick with it :D
If you want to try JB and hate it, then you can do a oneclick restore back to an ICS modem and you'll be back to normal. :)

Actually the Odin Guide Sticky is in the main forum we're in now. :)

I'm not familiar with that method for our phone? To flash a modem you would need to be rooted with a custom recovery and that wouldn't revert you back to stock ICS.

Walmart I haven't seen any more usage of my battery with JB than I did with ICS. Its about the same. Sometimes when you update to a new OS it can use more battery for a day or 2 until the new OS 'settles' in.

Oops. Modem was the wrong term.
I believe Rwilco12 has a oneclick restore for all S2 variants . You can do that to revert back to ICS.

Edit: Rwilco12 doesn't have it for TMobile, but i think you can find one on xda.
