To Make Browser Identify as Desktop...

Nice tip.

Some of the third party browsers offer this as a quickly switchable option. Dolphin, Skyfire and xScope all let you quickly toggle to another user agent, which might be more convenient for some people than heading into the settings and modifying it.

xScope remembers the setting for up to 10 domains, which is great for sites that you either always want the desktop version, or the occasional site that will respond with a mobile version to an "iPhone" user agent, but not to "Android."

Yes they do, but not all work either. After reading that Dolphin HD would play as a desktop browser while surfing in my newest Maximum PC mag, I downloaded and installed it and got everything set up and surfed to a few places and still got the mobile version of those websites. It may do it on some sites, but the ones I wanted it to do it on sent me straight to their mobile site.

Jake43,

Wow! Thanks! This actually works on the stock browser and it works on the sites I have been trying to view the desktop version of their site.

Hi all. This method doesn't work on Galaxy S with 2.2. Instead, type

about:useragent

Then you'll get a popup where you can choose the user agent.

Worked a treat for me!
