Help To my rooted friends

I rooted my Note 8 some time ago to add options to Multi Window but have found that I really do not use it much and so I un rooted my Note 8, did a factory reset and then went about my merry way.

Couple things that I have found that puzzle me.
1. SuperSu is still there after a factory reset. Does it hurt anything? If so, how can I remove it?
2. I used the option under settings to check for a software update and received a message stating that I have modified my device and I cannot check for updates that way but must use Kies.
3. When trying to connect my Note to my Windows 7 laptop it will not connect.

So I have several things going on - any ideas how to clear some of these up?

If SuperSU is installed as a system app, because you just finished unrooting it, no you can no longer uninstall system apps as far as I am aware.

check the USB cable.. to see if it might be the problem for not connecting to the laptop.
also try a different computer.
