Root To root or not to root....

So I rooted it and the Dx got so warm and I think battery life just flew on by. I ended up unrooting it and then it got cool again. Why would rooting the phone put it in some kind of overdrive?

Hmmm, I wish I could 100% believe you but as soon as I unrooted it got cool again. I swear. The only other thing I uninstalled before that was ATK and that didnt help either.

All rooting a device does is allow certain applications elevated permission in the system.

You confirm these applications using the 'Superuser' app.

If you think about it this way, there's no possible way that just the act of rooting a device can cause it to get hot (i.e. increase CPU/GPU/radio load)

ATK most likely responsible for all your troubles. If you want another opinion on ATK, ask Piiman ;)

It was a gui root. Maybe it installed something else that was running in the background? I'm not sure but ATK didnt show anything else running.
