Root to root or not to root?

I've been seeing how many users are using rooted phones and wondering if this is for me or not i cant stand how some apps don't work properly (especially when i paid for it) and wondering if this would solve my problem. for example i use widget locker it sometimes shuts down on its own though, if i got rid of my stock slide to unlock could this cure my widget locker problem? how hard is to accomplish things after rooting? the actual process of rooting seem fairly easy and there are many guides to do the root but what do i do after it has been rooted. please help! and thank you!

If you want some excitement and live a good experience with your phone, root. If you don't care of having extra power over your handset, stand down and stay put...

Rooting will probably not improve the performace of the apps you are having issues with. You will be able to remove the bloatware and have more control over your phone. I had some apps giving me issues with force closes. Rooting didn't help that. What did help was installing DK28. Not one force close in the 4 days since I made that move. I rooted 2.2 now I am thinking of trying out EXT4 and some of the custom roms though to be honest I am not very impressed with the themes. My 13 year old likes them, seems to be the target audience.....
