Root to root or not to root

What are the advantages of rooting my inspire? Better than stock? Pros? Cons? New to Android. Ex-iPhone user. What is s-off? Need help plz. Rooting process sequence? What can I do with my phone that I couldn't before? And is it any more stable than gb 2.3.3(junk)

Rooting give your android device all rights. Warning you will lose your warranty. S off is used to easlly convert you radio when flashing tons... If it is left on, daisies will have to be installed manually... It's kinda confusing. So s-off= good! Second. Sence you are an ex iphone user. Jailbreaking can give you themes, but rooting can give you new roms. Witch is like a new phone. If you don't like the HTC sense look, their are roms to make it look like a samsung. Or it can even give you a new version of android. Even if it was not sent to your phone, the devs will make one. Currently, the devs at xda_developers are making a Rom with android 3.0. A tablet Rom. So rooting is worth it. an questions, feel free to pm me

best thing of all is that there are a lot of roms that will make your battery last a shit load longer then with the carrier version of android.

Advantages of rooting...Better battery life (even with overclocking), faster phone overall, choice of ROMS (CM7 rocks), custom kernels...

Disadvantages.... spending much more time messing with phone, wondering if you have the best setup, spending endless hours messing with it, consuming your life :)

Just root it, and quit wondering if you should.
