To root or not to root

I'm upgrading to the S4 Mini from the galaxy rush. I rooted my rush due to horrible storage and a few other features. I have some files on my rooted device that I don't want to lose so I guess I'm wondering if it's worth it to root the S4 Mini..any help is appreciated!

You can't lose files if you transfer them from a rooted phone to an unrooted phone - a file is a file.

Also, rooting gives you less storage (since it takes up some storage space) not more.

If the only reason you have for rooting the S4 is to keep some files on it, don't. You're voiding the warranty for nothing.

It's actually an app that isn't available anymore. I don't know how to move it to the s4 from my current phone... Any suggestions?
