I wondered if that was the reason for not taking it in.
Looks like you're going to have to wait until after the weekend for your replacement phone.

Yeah that's definitely under warranty - I would say do the above, a can of air can make a difference ( I blow all my holes out weekly for dust/lint 
) but both physical button covers on the bottom are rockers, the opposite button settings, should raise the home button up - sounds like you've done everything you can do aside from take the thing apart, which will most certainly void your warranty. That could be done, if your good with micro-electronics. On that note, unless this has already been turned in for replacement, be careful if you start prying and tugging with any tools - ANY sign of tampery will also raise a flag, beat on it, push on it, blow on it, but DON'T be sticking any tools in there that could leave a mark -
