To Update to 2.1 or Not, Please Comment

hi all,
I upgraded my hero with the new 2.1 firmware and now the phone is acting very slow.
any quick fix for this?
is anyone else having this issue?

Funny you said that, I went to one of Sprint's repair and sales store yesterday near where I live, I had to go there to transfer my wife's contact numbers to her new LG Elite, as I was waiting I started talking to the service guy and ask him about the update and here is what he said, they still did not have it yet as they have not been able to get on the Sprint site nor the HTC site to download it, so what does that tell you about Sprint, I told him to come to this site and there were numerous threads here that they can download a mirrored file from, he said cool, so I think I will do it myself, LOL Does not mean all the stores are like that, but found that funny

If you're near a Sprint store, take it there & have them do it. I took mine to one during my lunch break, 45 minutes later, I had my phone back. No problems, no regrets, can't wait to root though, lol

A few more questions before I start on the weekend to upgrade, if I have contacts and pictures backed up on my SD card, how do I restore them from Astro, or my SD card back to the HTC Hero. also when I use Astro, I can view what is on my SD card but do not see any options to delete stuff from the SD card, and suggestions
