Today's beach report

I don't mean to gush about this phone (right!), but I can't believe this screen. I was in full sun at the beach, with polarized sunglasses on and I could still see the screen. It wasn't the clearest thing ever, but in those conditions, I expected a black mirror. No - I had a functional phone.

Unbelievable.

And the next item is the battery life. Crazy - especially coming from a S2 where I always had 2 spare batteries with me - and often had to use them. I charge this phone once a day (takes 1 hour and 45 min. - amazing?!), and I have been using it heavily since I can barely put it down to go to sleep. And it lives on and on and on.

This was well worth what seemed like an interminable wait. I could have upgraded in May, but kept waiting for this phone. Love it.

Just curious. What's heavy use for you?

Heavy use: screen on constantly, with no power saving options on. Downloading apps and installing them for hours on end - and uninstalling them if I don't like them any more. Rearranging the furniture (best metaphor for playing with the home screens to get them just so), loading all my music and pictures, reorganizing my playlists and photo albums, reading this forum obsessively, e-mails, social media, reading news online, etc. Screen has been on for at least 6 to 8 hours a day.

I haven't played games on it yet and the games I like are probably not huge resource hogs.

Cool thanks. While Android (well maybe the media) doesnt make it easy to do yourself. I would be interested in knowing, say how many movies at full brightness could be played until it died. That would be a metric all would grasp.

LOL. Would love to see that in metrics and other benchmarks!
