Too much trouble for me

Good morning all, this is my final post here. I've had it with Cricket and my Ascend. I like the cost and the phone has been good to learn on. I owe so many thanks to all of you "in the know" about android phones on here.
Last week on St Patty's day, my GF called twice and my phone never rang. BTW, she's a cricket customer with a regular phone. I had been waiting for her to get off work as we were supposed to meet up. When she stopped by we looked at both call logs and her's had two unanswered calls to me. While this was the first time this happened, it's also the last. This caused a rather ugly situation between us. Throw in the multiple texts, texts that won't send, phone going dead and more.......I called support for the last time, they did their magic reset and of course nothing changed. Still had text problems. I did read on another thread a few minutes ago that they're working on the problem. For me, too little too late. I went to Verizon yesterday and picked up a Thunderbolt. Holy sheee-it, what a difference. So far it's love at first use. No multiple texts yet and I even got a call from my GF. So, for all of you who are sticking with Ascend, I wish you all the best!

I'm frustrated with the forwarded calls to voicemail. Doesn't show up as a missed call and it is starting to frustrate my wife as well. She has a Samsung Epic with Sprint. I had a Kyocera 1300 with Cricket at one time and never had a problem with texts or calls.

Hope you enjoy your new phone. Verizon gave me terrible customer service many years ago so it would be hard for me to go back with them.

Lol, my last post here, yeah right......Well, I've had my issues with Verizon as well. That's why I went with Cricket. However, I don't think there's any one provider that is really great. I deal with a good store and can only hope that if I have any problems, that they'll take care of it. My prior issues with them were over my LG Envy Touch going out before the first year. But not over text or call problems. I have to say that reading the Android forum for the Thunderbolt, there are few problems listed, so unlike this Ascend forum. I realize it's very new on the market and there may be problems.

Except for the text problem, that never seems to go away(third party apps for text never worked right), I'm pretty impressed with the technology of cell phones nowadays, I think the ascend is a good phone for the price, and let's everyone in on the fun. He loved his phone enough to get into the community, if he should blame someone, let it be cricket, not the phone.

Very sorry to hear all that happened with you. I've had no problems of this sort at all. I don't get multiple texts anymore. My phone doesn't go to voicemail fast enough for me. I never miss any calls, Even ones I wish I would. Though I do have to say with my Optimus, It has gone straight to voicemail before. Glad to hear you are doing better with your new phone. Take care!

I haven't had any problems, either. (knock on wood) Good luck with the tb. Thats a sweet phone. The main problem seems to be with the battery life, but that seems to be the universal complaint among android phones.

I'm very impressed with cell phones these days as well. I do blame Cricket for the many of my problems, which they never could fix. I did really like the Ascend for the most part, but I had problems I didn't even list...One of the worst days with it, I had to pull the battery 5 times as it kept dying through the day. While I don't remember each instance, one was just after hanging up a call. The best part of having my Ascend, was finding this forum and the great folks on here! I have to admit that reading this forum on the Ascend daily, gave me anxiety. Just reading of all the problems people have kinda bummed me out. The hopes and dreams of 2.2 on the Ascend as well as many of the other topics wore me down. Seeing the commercials for the Thunderbolt gave me hope for a great phone experience. So far now, 2 days, I'm way impressed. Reading their forum is almost boring, lol. :D

If I'd had those kinds of issues with the phone, I would have taken it back and asked for a replacement. And, as others have said, the phone hasn't been out that long so the whole impatience over 2.2 baffles me completely. The Ascend is a low-end smartphone not some supercomputer and people seriously need to stop expecting more from it than what it is. That's like buying a Ford Fiesta and bitching because it isn't a Mustang.

Lucky you! Ah yes, battery life. It's the #1 complaint on Androids. I read forum on a bunch of Verizon Android phones over the past week. Normally I'm not a heavy user, but with the TB, I can see that my usage will go up. I found this sweet charger on the TB forum and ordered it.
