Root took a few too many things out with a ROM

im running Leedroid 3.0.6 and I did the usual take a few apps out before installing...BUT seems in my haste I took a few needed ones out..

1st off....facebook, I took the main app itself out and the HTC sense bit too...and now I can't sync contacts even after installing the app again...can I just take an earlier htcfacebook.apk out of say leedroid 2.4 and put it in the one I am using? will that work?

also, I took out the htcclockwidget.apk and im not sure but now I've lost the default android alarm clock...I've tried installing "alarm clock launcer" but everytime it now just brings the HTC clock up instead, especially when I use fancy widgets...I cant just get straight to alarm clock anymore by one tap..
what apk file is it that causes this?

also is Ttsservices.apk the titanium backup app?

also the 'lean more' app in the main drawer....is this protips.apk?

any help here would be great :D as im running a kinda picked apart ROM an realise I need to fix it lol

oh an also...

Is there a apk which gives me notification area controls, like the CM controls..

I know that there is a leedroid one floating about XDA which is tested with 2.2f BUT thats the reason I changed ROMS cos I screwed up my last froyo leedroid rom for some reason by installing that same file..

So is there another that is known to be working with GB versions of leedroid?

EDIT: nevermind on the titanium thing...I just found the app....sitting in different directory...and realising this is where the non rom apps are....can I also load my own apps and games into the rom here so they are installed straight off the bat? or does the rom have to be a certain size?

if its a matter of space as in app installation space, then its ok cos this ROM does the A2SD thing automatically....no needing to do the whol terminal emulator and SU thingy..

Just put back the 2 things from your Rom zip

Protips is the widget for learn more, yes.

Tts is text to speech.

There is a notifications power widget app on the market. It looks awful using all your drop down, but its there. You can't get one that looks like the cm one. That needs to be compiled at source

well I managed to get facebook working again...dear god was it a damn chore...didn't really help that I never kept a back up of the original ROM, so I was pulling parts out of an older rom lol

but yea, facebook works....alarm clock, that is the default android one, isn't I can't find the file to do it...which is a bloody pain..

the only thing that bugs me with this version of leedroid is the notification transparency/black background...makes it a little hard to see things sometimes...not enough to warrent a change right now though lol

though I do have a big issue right now...I was trying to download Layar...and for some reason it didn't get passed 99%...and I've cancelled it, force closed the market..killed the net...rebooted the phone twice and its STILL trying to download, or at least just sitting there now in the bar at 99%...anyway to actually FULLY kill it..an please don't say factory reset or something...cos I just spent the last couple hours pissing bout with the rom (it boot looping a number of times while I was fiddling)...pleeeeeaaaaaaaase tell me theres another way lol

EDIT: Dan do you have a link to that power widget? cos I just checked the market for notification power widget and coming up blank

does anyone know ALL the clock apks in a sense ROM? as in a leedroid one?

and then can someone (most likely Dan) tell me how to do adb push? cos I can;t for the life of me get it to work...and when I mean tell me how, I don't just mean the command but EXACTLY what to do...as in what directories to create on the PC that I put my file into that I want pushed to the phone etc

EDIT: cos this clock thing is the ONLY thing wrong now and its driving me mad...hell my alarm doesnt even work properly...when it goes off it doesnt flash up on screen properly...and by screen I mean my lockscreen...I have to unlock the phone first to get to the damn dismiss and snooze buttons..

could that be cos I took out the htc lockscreen and left myself with vanilla android lock? or is that unrelated?

I hope so cos I cant afford to reflash and then put all the apps back on AGAIN :(

though saying that, is there a way to actually take a ghost image (like nandroid) of JUST the apps properly including the 1GB partition? or does backup apps like titanium or mybackup do this well?

EDIT: cheers for the link by the way dan...ok its a lil ugly but it does the job perfectly...I have full control over my brightness from there as well as leeching a lil extra memory back from widgetsoid...cos originally I had an 'invisble' widget on my HTC Sense homescreen, which was blank obviously cos im running GO...it was only on as a screen widget as thats the only way widgetsoid lets you have them as notification buttons too, which is the reason I wanted something different..thats a REALLY poor way of doing it...just wish I'd known bout it BEFORE I screwed round with the leedroid thing and then doing ROMS...I lost all my angry birds saves and caligo chasers :( I'd knocked up close to 5 hours on that lol

funnily enough, yours was the ONLY one I never checked...and its clearer than the rest cheers dan..

right..now...

anyone know EXACTLY what clock files are in a leedroid sense rom? lol

EDIT: one quick question dan, if I say got all the correct clock.apk files together...would I need to push THEN install them via adb or just install them via adb?

EDIT2: nevermind...reading further down to the "other adb codes" seems the install thing IS a copy and install thing...

cheers dan! now just to find the other clock files..

oh so no need to adb install? fair enough...not gonna argue with the expert lol

still need those clock files otherwise this going over adb is useless lol

I always strip a lot of Sense out of my roms - this is the only clock/alarm file that I still have left in - Worldclock.apk. Found in System/App

I'm still on LeeDroid 2.5 by the way but maybe it will help

I also have to use Alarm Clock Plus as I also strip out the Sense lockscreen and that plays havoc with turning off your alarms.

so its the sense lockscreen that could be causing my issues? how the hell does that make any sense :|

EDIT: Thanks GrenW you are a champion! thats EXACTLY what im looking for...now I can strip out the rest of the clock crap and just use that now as I have fancy widgets installed anyway..
