Root [TOOL] LG Laf Recovery MultiTool v1.2

sammyz

LG Whiz Kid
First off, thanks to these guys for everything we have thus far:
Android Addict, junkie2100, Cheetopocalypse, biggiephil, bobdamnit, LoneStar, and PlayfulGod

This tool is to help you guys with unlocking in the easiest way possible. Take note that drivers are not included and you may need to install adb drivers and fastboot drivers.

Recovery is not included. You can download AA's recovery.img from the links below.

The tool is pretty self explanatory. Need I say further?

Download the downloads.
Extract everything in the zip files.
Install drivers.
Open Run.bat and select an option.

Of course though if drivers are broken or USB debugging is not enabled, this will not work, so make sure drivers are all installed and working properly.

Changelog
  • Renamed to LG Laf Recovery Multitool (will work on L90 and LG Volt)
  • Removed laf.img and recovery.img from zip (download recovery yourself and place in same place as extracted run.bat)
  • Added options to backup and restore specified partition
  • Added automated bootloader unlock
  • Added option to flash recovery to laf partition (allows one to boot to recovery using download mode)

This tool is to help you guys with flashing your phone as well as unbricking since laf must be restored in order to unbrick. Recovery and a backup of the laf partition is included. Thanks biggiephil for your copy of the laf, I can't stop laffing hahaha.

This will definitely help out some other people who don't understand the other ways

Coooooool! Thank you.

So, do we go through each option from A to I ? How do I know if done correctly and what do I do to finish the process, do I just unplug or do I power off? How do I know I am done?

For you, go into fastboot, select option D press enter then wait, then select option I.

Boot into download mode with keycombo and hopefully download mode works for you now.

Went to download mode and it now has a screen that says firmware update...Do I just sit here till it does something because it hasn't done squat for 5 minutes now.

Went to CWM RECOVERY, ran it , it said something like has root been lost do you want to fix this - This can not be undone. Um, I said NOPE. Should I or shouldn't I is the question?

SAMMYZ - Many thanks for hanging in there with me.

I'm really stumped here... I can't get the stupid fastboot to work...I've been trying over and over for hours... I have all the drivers installed, I made sure to follow the laf steps from the original unlock post and made sure debugging was on and set the phone to charge only mode and made sure i had the latest LG drivers along with fastboot and adb installed but my phone doesn't seem to budge. when I type fastboot devices, the console doesnt treat it like anything, and moves to the next line. Then when I try fastboot oem unlock it hangs on waiting for devices...I'm really stuck... I just want to unlock the bootloader and be done with it

Did you zero out your laf partition? Are you in download mode/fastboot? Did you try the 'Z' option in the MultiTool?
