Help Torrent app - no google play

I bought a cheap tablet that is not google play certified or whatever you call it- how can I get a torrent app like utorrent or bittorrent, they must be available somewhere other than google? Thank you in advance!

There are some legitimate app store alternatives to Play Store. The only ones I know about are:

Amazon will probably be your most thorough alternative. It pretty much has everything the play store has.

Thanks, I had checked amazon and did not find it...maybe they do not allow torrent apps. Anyhow I found the free utorr app at m.aptoide.com - seems to work fine.

I'd be wary installing apps from sites like that, that offer paid apps for free... You might get more than you bargain for.

OK, it was actually installed on device as well as the amazon apps so I thought it would be safe to use- manufacturer must check it out before adding to 1000s of devices??

Nah mate aptoide is notorious for malicious apps as well as piracy.
I wouldn't touch their apps with a bargepole
