Help Torrents

I've a couple of torrent apps off the market & they work fairly well.

The problem i'm having is some avi video files don't play properly, & even though the whole 700MB (or whatever) file downloads, i only get about 10-20 seconds of play (usually the Universal world film intro), with error message 'codec error: use windows media player', or something to that effect.

I've tried almost every video/movie player app on the market but none will play them.

& i've tried windows media player 11 on my pc & get exactly the same, same with vlc player too (which pretty much plays everything).

The codec for the files is wmv3, which i read should be ok with anything past windows media player 7.1.

So, what are these files? Will i ever be able to get them to play? Is there anyway i can tell before i download?

This isn't every video file i download, just some.

AndTor, which i don't think is on the market anymore for some reason (but have a search anyway) & tTorrent.
AndTor gives you the choice of piratebay, bt junkie etc, so i find it better. Less of the files i describe above too.

But i've never used utorrent, so can't compare with that.

I can search andtor but its paid app...I am looking for any free goos torrent downloading app

ttorrent has only lite version in market which I can see

tTortent is the best torrent app on the market!I am downloading dvd9 files with it and everything works!I recommend this app for you.

I do find tTorrent more stable & generally quicker than AndTor, & i've just realised other search clients such as pirate bay can be used.
I'll try again...

This is a very standard fake torrent file. Normally, it gives a download link which keeps leading to more and more BS. You can never play that file and any determined efforts to do so will only result in a virus (at least on the PC, dunno how Android will handle it). You would see the Universal intro for movies which weren't produced by them too :D.

So, delete it asap and forget about it. Next time, try to check comments on the file before downloading it. Otherwise, check if the files in the torrent 'pack' have a sample file. If it has a sample, there's a good chance the file is not fake.

As far as I know, tTorrent is the best. It gives a lot of options (recent updates) and also increased speed and no. of parallel downloads on the free version. And recently, it allows to check what files are included in the 'pack'.

I did suspect something like that... virus i mean... bastards

My phone doesn't seem to be affected, nor my work pc... yet!
Best do a virus check...

Thank you iamteja
