Root Toshiba thrive 10 clockworkmod DENIES EVERYTHING!

I recently rooted my old toshiba thrive but whenever I try to run an app that requires root the app fails and I get a notification that says "APPNAME has been denied Superuser permissions" What is going on?

Moved to the Thrive root forum.

It sounds like the root method didn't take, or that you have somehow lost root.

Do you have SuperUser or SuperSU installed? One of those is also required to allow apps to have root access. Just having ClockWorkMod doesn't give the rest of your apps root access.

You have to update the binaries on Superuser after root or it won't actually be rooted.

Good that you are remembering all this stuff and I can't remember all the steps. I haven't even flashed a ROM on my Thrive for almost a year. The Baked Black Bean ROM is that good. :D

I agree, Black Bean has been working great. Couple quirks but nothing bad.

I was going to have dalepl roll back our other Thrive, then the ICS Root Tool came out so I rooted that and put the deodexed ICS on it and that works great now and my mother in law uses it.

I'm probably getting the next gen 10" nexus when it's available and then my Thrive will get ICS on it and my daughters will get to play with it. I'll miss a few of it's features, but I'm ready for something newer.

Yeah, that should be a nice one. I'll be using my Thrive for a while. Cannot afford a new 10" tablet but I don't really need the latest and greatest.

Newer is not always better. If mine dies, I'll probably pick up another Thrive on eBay.

My wife has basically taken over my Thrive. She uses it at work. I only use it at home with HDMI out to my TV using TV Portal, Netflix, etc. But, it does all we need it to do. Never have had any issue.
