Root Total Newb and Stuck

I have the Evo 4G and recently rooted the phone using Unrevoked 3.3

Upon being rooted, I downloaded Rom Manager (free version) and flashed over to cyanogenmod 6.1.2 but didnt like it that much. So, I tried to restore using Clockworkmod Recovery, but for some reason it wouldnt work. Now, all I get is the white EVO 4G screen upon boot up.

I can still get into Clockworkmod, but I can't get a Rom on this thing! The Cyanogenmod won't install. It gives me a Status 7 error. I was browsing and just used Culkin's Full Format and it STILL wont install. Same error.

Did I brick this thing or what?

Sounds like you were stuck in a boot loop, good thing is you can get to recovery it sounds like, correct? It also sound like you can't restore your backup, is this also correct? Can you please give us a little bit more information?

how did you try to restore exactly and what were you trying to restore to when this problem arose? Sounds like CM was working ok, but you just didnt care for it and then tried to restore a nandroid backup and thats when the problem started?

I can get it into recovery, but my backup seems to have failed. I have some kind of lame MD5 error on all six of my backups in nandroid.

I just tried to install a stock sense rom as suggested by someone I know and it says I'm out of space??? I really dont want to buy a new phone. What do I do?

It's a bit confusing because in the first paragraph, it sounds like he's stuck in a boot loop, could get to recovery, but that's it. Then in paragraph 2 it sounds like he's able to get his phone to boot up completely.

You don't need to buy a new phone. W/O restoring a nandroid backup, can you get the phone to boot up at all? If so, you'll need to delete a couple backups from ROM Manager. Are you able to get there at all?

can you turn the phone off, and then boot into hboot by holding down the volume down rocker and power button simultaneously?

I'm not too familiar with CW (I use Amon RA religiously), but do you have an option to "mount" your sd card? If so connect your phone to your PC via usb, select "mount" from recovery and you should be able access your sd card from your PC (the drive will usually be name "removable drive" or something to that affect). If you can do that, you can navigate to where your nandroid backups are saved, I believe it's in a folder named "Clockwork", delete them, download a PC36IMG then move to root directory of sd card, rename to PC36IMG.zip exactly (windows 7 adds the file ext. at the end for you so be sure not to name PC36IMG.zip.zip), then reboot phone.

Thanks to Akazabam you can find the PC36IMG files here.

I've got a brand new clockwork... it's now orange vs the green I had before... but still not fully booting up. I just have a white screen. on the HBoot, it's still giving me an error about the IMG

Give this a try.

-Copy the PC36IMG.zip to the root of your SD Card
-Power off your phone
-While holding the VOLUME DOWN button, power on your phone into bootloader
-The phone will scan for a PC36IMG.zip
-Once prompted, install the update and reboot
