Help touch screen insensitivity

Hi,
Both my wife and I have HTC incredibles. Hers has a really annoying problem. When her phone rings, she sweeps her finger down the screen repeatedly to answer, but there is no response. Eventually the call goes to voicemail. My phone has no such problem. Does anybody have an idea what is happening with hers? Is there a way to change the sensitivity of the touch screen?
Alternatively, is there any other to answer the phone, bypassing the touch screen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some phones have a manufacturing defect where they aren't grounded properly, there are apps like "widget locker" that will let you use other keys to unlock the phone, not sure if it will with answering a call though. Some people have better success when using two fingers spread apart when trying to answer a call.
