Touch screen keyboard questions

Finally tomorrow is the day and i'll be picking up the shift. Ive played around with it at a sprint store a few times and was wondering if the on screen keyboard works in portrait or just landscape? Or if there was an app i could get to be able to have a portrait keyboard.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Works both portrait and landscape, however if you download a different keyboard from the market you'll be much more satisfied.
Use either Swype, SwiftKey or Better Keyboard.
