Help Touch Screen only Works for a few seconds after boot

Hi guys,

I recently got my phone wet after drunkenly falling into a fountain yesterday (my phone was in my pocket); anyhow, today I was able to it turn on just fine. For a few hours everything was working until just recently when the touch screen stopped working all of a sudden. It doesn't respond at all.

I've tried restarting the phone multiple times by removing the battery & turning it back on; and just for a few seconds the touch screen is functional. I can navigate for about 10 seconds or so and then it stops working all over again. It's been like this for a few good hours now and every time I turn it off and on, the touch screen becomes functional, and then stops working after quick few seconds.

I've tried going back to stock to see if it was a software issue, and unfortunately; that didn't fix it. It still does the same thing. I'm starting to think that this might very well be a hardware issue which I'm very weary of :/

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced a problem similar to this where the touchscreen works for just a few seconds after booting up, and then stops; and if so, were you able to fix the issue?

Edit: I Have no clue why but the touch screen is now working. I let it sit idle and off for a few minutes and then turned it back on. The touchscreen has been responsive since. Really odd..

Sounds like youve been very lucky lol. Id still (if i was you) take the battery out, put the phone in a tub of rice and leave in a warm place for a week (what you should have done from the start lol)
Or else id bet (hope not) youll start to see problems in the months to come.
Maybe also take out online insurance like NOW lol :beer:

Good idea, I'll definitely try that out, and I am definitely very lucky! Yesterday, in my drunken stupor, I decided to turn on my phone literally an hour after it got wet. It was a completely stupid idea but I wanted to document some important kodak moments. I literally did that for a good hour or two until I finally sobered up and decided that having the phone on in the first place was never a good idea lol.

What's even more funny is that this isn't the first time I got my phone wet. The first time I dropped it in the toilet (and thankfully that toilet had been previously flushed) I gave it a day or two of off time and then turned it back on, and whatdya know, it's working. The sound was completely off for a good week but overtime it reverted to its old quality.

My phone must be an anomally among millions; it's been dropped, soaked, and used a million times, and it still works like new. Lol
