Help Touch Screen to Unlock?

Currently to open the screen so i can click on my home screen I have to press one of the 4 hard buttons to get the unlock screen to come up then slide the unlock button across the screen. Is there any way to make it so that just touching the screen will cause the unlock screen button to show up?

no but you can turn off the slide to unlock.

Lol, I've had a Droid for so long that it's just muscle memory now for me to hit the lock/power button and then slide the lock.

the power button and then slide to unlock is a bit annoying

i took mine off although i do miss it kind of because it tells
how much the battery is charging when i have it hooked up to the charge

widgetlocker offers a lock screen replacement where you can unlock using other hardware keys (back and camera). I hit home->unlock to wake->unlock.

As far as touch to unlock, that won't work because if you get a phone call and the phone is in your pocket, it'd be pretty easy to unlock it and answer/disconnect the call on accident.
