Help touch tones not working

I got my note a few days ago and touch tones dont seem to be working.

Is there a way to fix this?
I went to call settings and changed the dtmf tones from normal to long, but this does not help.

Any idea how to enable this?

It's my understanding that the stock phone app does NOT play the familiar key tones for each number. I found a few aftermarket apps that do play the tones but ended up going back to the stock phone app because of how it looks/feels.
