Help Touchpad CM9 VPNC Widget

Just installed CM9 v. 0.6 on my HP Touchpad. Very impressed -- I might actually use the Touchpad now!

I had VPNC successfully working on my old Motorola Droid with CM7 (and it still works). VPNC needs to be added as a Widget to the homescreen to work. On my Motorola Droid, I accomplished this by press-holding the Home Screen background, selecting Widgets from the popup, and picking "VPNC Widget" from the available popups.

But I haven't figured out how to do this with CM9 on the Touchpad. When I press and hold on the Home screen, nothing happens. When I go to the apps list/Widgets tab and press the background, it tries to pick up the nearest pre-installed Widget so I can drag it somewhere.

So summarize, how do you setup an app to run as a Widget with CM9 on the Touchpad? Am I not understanding the CM9 method or is this a bug or non-implemented feature?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Update: A friend clued me in, that if I go to the Apps page, then flip through pages to the right, any available widgets appear in these pages. I dragged my VPNC widget from there to the home screen.

Depends on the launcher. Did you try Nova or Apex launchers yet? You can long-press with either of them and choose "widget".

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm not a deep dabbler in CM development & testing so it honestly didn't occur to me to try a different launcher.
