So I have the HTC Evo V 4G which I got on Thursday.
Friday it worked perfect and I was very pleased with it, but today (Saturday) the touchpad and texting are all weird.
It hasn't been dropped or gotten wet. It hasn't even left the house yet. You'd think it was just taken out of the box a minute ago.
Not using any custom text keyboards or browsers and not rooted.
Texts will only send if I shut the phone off and power it back on for each text. If I don't do this it will hang at the "sending" icon for 30 minutes to forever until I do. And this is with 4 to 5 bars out of 6. Tech support even checked the service in my area and confirmed that the texting should come through instantly without me powering down each time. They even tried to send me texts themselves through the computer that I couldn't receive until doing these steps each time.
Then the big issue. The touchpad. It seems like it works perfect, until I need to type something. Off and on it will not let me type on it. It highlights the button when I touch it, but no letter will display in the search bar for internet/contacts or in the texting box. Still I'm able to scroll the screen and click links and it does register when I touch on the keyboard, highlighting the letter. It just doesn't make the connection to display it in the appropriate area, effectively leaving it blank. Powering it off and back on will allow me to type for about 10 minutes until just the keypad quits functioning again, while leaving everything else in tact.
I've been on the phone with technical support since 3pm to 9pm and all 6 people are stumped. They kept transferring me to higher departments until they finally decided to send me a new phone, which I'm not happy with knowing it's going to be refurbished when this phone is 3 days old brand new.
So I was wondering if anyone here knows how to fix these issues or at least what causes this to occur.
