Help touchscreen doesn't work

this is my replacement Ally after I dropped my first one and couldn't use the mic or earpiece (calls only through speakerphone)

I was at the local pool. my phone was sitting on a dry chair, 6 feet away from any body of water.
After I had gotten out, and had sufficient enough time to air dry, I dried my hands and reached for my phone to check facebook. Phone froze on me, as usual with me thinking faster than my Ally.
voila, touchscreen no longer works.
-did le battery pull for a minute-
touchscreen still does not work
-did le hard reset (end/home/volume up)-
touchscreen still does not work AND my phone is reset.

anyone else with any other ideas? I'm close to leaving this sucker on the tracks and letting an eastbound train explain my anger at it.

Never had those problems. My phone has always worked well for me. If you do decide to take the phone back don't mention the pool thing to Verizon!

As long as there is no water damage (which there isn't and no sign of it either) then they can't do sh*t.

I may just have to go with a Moto Droid and leave the Ally behind. This will be second replacement in two weeks. Don't get me wrong, from what I've seen people do to theirs on here is awesome, and the support given is phenomenal.

However, I work quickly, and would love more processor power on my phone for quicker responses. Eh....c'est la vie.
