Help touchscreen lag?

this is my first post so bear with me,
i just upgraded from desire to desire hd really happy with the hand set looks and feels great but i seem to be having an issue with the screen it appears to suffer from lag when quickly flicking through the menus, and on some occasions it freezes up for a few seconds any help with this would be great thanks in advance guys,

Settings>Applications>Development>USB debugging (make sure the box is checked).

That should solve the problem rightaway! Reboot if necessary.
