Anyone else get this? When the phone's on the charger, everything via the touchscreen's really slow or completely unresponsive (existing downloads etc continue fine though). Bit of a nuisance when trying to send a text or make a call or surf.

Hmm, that sounds like a cheap usb cable. I had the same problem with my lg a few months back. Getting a new cable fixed the problem for me back then. Have you tried different cables? Just might be worth a shot.
