Help Touchscreen not working

Does anybody have the problem of the touchscreen not following commands on their Desire HD especially when it is downloading updates. Mine gets to the point where it won't even let me unlock the screen and if I manage the buttons do opposite things. After 20 minutes it might settle down but it is annoying. I restored factory settings to see if sorted it out but it is repeating the problem. I have also just installed the latest HTC update.

I actually discovered the problem in the end. When I am charging the phone via the mains it actually interferes with the phone and stops the keyboard working properly. It can also make the phone start typing in passwords. No great concern just wont use it when it is charging. Other than that I think it is a superb phone.
