help please!
i just got my new evo today and decided to try this mod. i broke off 2 pads trying to solder onto those tiny things.

ive attached a picture circling the two pads i broke off.

both are on the bottom right side of the phone, both registering 5 volts on the multimeter when plugged in.

i also tried soldering directly to the micro usb pins to no avail.

now i cannot charge my phone regardless of where it plugs into.
even the pc does not detect anything as plugged in.

i used a pencil to get graphite on the broken pads and they are showing 5 volts just fine now on the voltmeter as does the pin on the micro usb.


my question is why do all the locations on the board register the 5 volts just like before my screw up however the phone does not charge nor register as being plugged into the pc when it is?

the phone powers on just fine but i did not want to drain the remainder of the battery testing everything out.

i was thinking i could drop by a sprint store but of course my warranty sticker over the screw has been removed to gain access to the area.

what can i do?

Ouch... I was gonna say smash it and pay the deductible but that wouldn't do you any good.

but does anyone know why i can detect the voltages just fine but for some reason it is not getting to the battery charging circuit?

seems odd to me.
