Help TouchWiz force closes

I know this is frowned upon but I've posted this problem in Support and Troubleshooting months ago but received no response, so here goes.

***

Feel like an idiot for this one...

Last week I had my phone hooked up to my PC and was browsing though the file directories trying to clean some stuff up. I just erased leftover empty folders from deleted apps - or so I thought.

I was using GO Launcher at the time and didn't notice a problem. Fast forward to today, when I felt like changing things up and set TouchWiz back to the default launcher. This is when I realized I might have done some damage.

The problem currently:
The phone powers on normally, the lockscreen displays properly, but a few seconds after I unlock the phone the Twlauncher force close error message pops up. After I select 'Force close' the phone partially loads the homescreen only to display the force close error message again. This process is a continuous loop.

Any suggestions on the best/easiest way to get me out of this issue? Thanks for any responses.

Update:
I was able to hold off the force close message long enough to make it into the app settings and clear the launch default from TouchWiz. GO Launcher is now working and the phone is stable, but I keep getting force close errors when I try to launch TouchWiz. I still want to fix this TouchWiz problem though.

Will a Factory or GSM reset solve this?

I think I saw somewhere in the forums that clearing the data and cache for twlauncher would clear that up. The least is it can't make it worse and isn't as drastic as a factory reset.

I second pupkact, The best thing to do first is to clear data and cache of the TWLauncher in your App management. This removes any customization you made and reset the config to a clean slate.
