Trackball light

Hi I was just wondering does the trackball on the Hero turn on all the time with the buttons or only for notifications such as texts?

Mine doesn't, it only lights up when you get a new text message.

It lights up for many notifications - calls and texts mainly, but depending on how it's configured and what apps you have, also emails, calendar reminders and such like.

Im wondering the same thing. I dont see the option to enable the trackball notifications in the system settings. Is this not part of 1.5? I have the Sprint Hero.

This doesnt specify whether its the led or track ball that will be notifying you. I would love to be able to set my own blinking pattern for the track ball, and also change the led color. Also, my buttons dont always light up with the screen. They seem to turn off a lot sooner. Id like them to ALWAYS be lit when the screen is on. Anyone know how to do that?
