Help Tracking.jampp

Lumpyd

Lurker
Several times a day, a browser pops up with the address of tracker.jampp.com. the browser closes and opens up the Google play store to an app (uber, words with Friends, etc.). I have installed and run 3 different virus/malware programs and none of them have found anything. But this continues to happen. I have cleared my browsing history, my cookies and anything else I can think of.

Any thoughts?

It's probably something coming from an app. Maybe you clicked an ad?? If you go to http://www.jampp.com/, you can see that they are an app promotion service. The tracker/redirection is likely used to show how you arrived at the app in the app store. Basically a way to track and/or prove that you ended up there because of their services or app promotion.

Let me try to use a clearer example.
You're playing a game. You click an ad that is a promotion for another game. The ad links to jampp.com and then redirects to the link on the play store. Thus showing that Jampp guided you to the play store link.

Many websites do this as well as a way to track referrals. When you are on a webpage and visit one of their suggested sites, usually you can watch a redirect happen in your web browser to track that you made it to the other webpage through their webpage.

The only problem with that theory, is that a lot of times when this happens, all I'm doing is looking at my text messages. Nothing that has any ads. I use the text message app that came on the phone. It almost always opens up to the uber page, which I already have downloaded on my phone.

Well, that was just an example. It may not be from clicking an ad in an app but I'd bet that one of your apps is causing it. I don't know exactly how they "promote" but the issue is related to an app promotion service.

I think it's a fair assumption to say that one of your apps is using said service and that's why you are seeing it. This isn't a common issue, and all I can do is speculate from a little research.

Now, how can we find out what app is causing this?!

Not sure. I think what's even more annoying is that it keeps promoting an app that I already use. Lol. Not very good marketing from their end. I'm probably just going to bring it into the store and see if they can help me out. Thanks for the advice. :)
