Tracking stolen phone

Just been listening to a news story about a man who found his stolen laptop by using a bit of software called Prey that uses the computer's built in camera to secretly take photos of whoever is using it. Does anyone know of any similar software for the Galaxy S 2? With its forward facing camera something like this would be perfect if your phone gets stolen.

There's an app on the market called GotYa! Face Trap! I can't say if its any good as I haven't tried it

You may also want to give "Android Lost" a go.
Lots of nice security features (including taking photos with either front or rear camera) and some handy functions on top too (eg. to make a noise when on silent if you cant find your phone).

But what if there was no screen lock. all the theif has to do is make sure 3g and wifi are turned off and then your phone cannot be tracked.

Well the whole point of using the software mentioned above is that it takes. Photo when lockscreen has a failed attempt.

Im a BIG fan of theftaware.

One of the big plus sides for theftaware above samsung dive is that it still works even if the sim is swapped out.

It also allows you to:

Intercept calls and sms messages
You can listen into the phone without the other person knowing you are doing so
You can remotely track, lock and wipe the phone

Lots of other cool features as well...

I use handcent sms app on my S2 and it works well with this. Unfortunately, go sms doesn't work nicely with it because of the way the dev's have set up go sms to take the highest priority code for an sms that is allowable.. apparently, not the thing to be done if you want to make sure your app works with other apps out there. well done gosms pro devs..

Dive appears to work with sim swapped to me. I set dive up in Norway on telenor sim and once I returned to US I put AT&T sim back in and Dive emailed me about sim swap. I logged in and could locate the phone still.
