Trackpad in apps

Ok here is another thing that gets me. I just got done trying some games that uses the track ball button to induce action. Ofcourse we don't have one. Is there any way to play these things without a track ball?

My preference is to not have a trackball but now it cripples some apps. Major bummer.

I just wish the phone had a trackball or a directional pad, period. Not just for games but it makes navigating through certain things so much easier!
