Trade Epic for Evo? Why Not?

The EVO has been out since June 4th. It took HTC over 3 months to fix that FPS cap. Sprint\Samsung JUST found out about this 3G upload bug (supposedly) and they have already announced that they will have it fixed in the next maintenance update. SO I would say that Samsung is doing a great job so far :D

I would consider that prioritizing. First, the EVO got an update that helped battery life, and then Froyo, and then finally fixing the fps cap which is the least important of the three for sure.

Truthfully, if I didn't love the Epic's keyboard, I'd probably have jumped ship because the Evo's 3G radio is better. Sprint's coverage doesn't always permeate buildings well (such as my home), so that extra bit of mileage can be a rather big deal.

I love the Samsung's screen, but I prefer the Evo's UI and the solidity of its hardware. The presentation's slicker, which is always appreciated with an Android phone.

The way I see it, the Driod X has brute durability and amazing battery life, the Evo has the seamless user experience (and 3G-4G reliably) and the Samsung has all of the geeky tweaks (processor, screen, keyboard, 4G) that some of us can't live without. Me, for example (though I say so wistfully).

Evo: Network reliability, smoother integration, luxurious UI. Epic: More power and flexibility, geekier options. The Epic is to the Evo what the iRiver iHP-140 was to the iPod 3G. (In those days, I preferred the iRiver.)

I wouldn't blame anyone for choosing either phone.

I have an EVO and my wife has and Epic. I like me EVO, she likes her Epic. She wasn't sure about the keyboard, now that's the only way she types (totally ignoring Swype that came pre-installed!). Her screen is stunning. But I like Sense much better than TouchWiz. DNLA may be coming to the EVO with a Sense upgrade (debate on whether the EVO will get it, but most believe we will). Battery life is comparable, but neither of us are power users, so YMMV.

Some points that are hard to deny. My wife is on her third Epic-one bricked and both others had unresponsive capacitive buttons. She hasn't tested the GPS thing yet, but I gotta think Samsung will address that in the near future. Mine works flawlessly now, though.
