Help transfer files from pc to fascinate

hi,
I've had the phone for about a day now and I'm starting to get the hang of it. I connected my phone to my laptop (WinXP) via usb cable and mounted it and what not and the laptop recognized it. I see it in explorer as my E drive and see the following folders:
Android
DCIM
LOST.DIR
tmp
app(which I created)

when I copy files to the app folder and try to search for it on the phone I cannot find it using Astro. I also set the phone to mass storage. Any help would be appreciated!

and the sd card folder in Astro seems to be empty. not sure where the files are transferring to and using the search feature in Astro turns up nothing.

nevermind. did not know you had to unmount before reading sd folder. whoops.
