Help Transfer files from PC to Nexus- Doesn't work

Pureblood

Newbie
I can't transfer pictures from my computer to my nexus but I can copy from my nexus to PC.

This is ridiculous and it almost makes me regret not getting a phone with a sd card.

Has anyone else had this trouble and if so have you fixed it?

This worked for me 1 time using Windows Media Player. After thank, it doesn't see my Nexus. I'll have to try some reboots later to see if it clears it up.

I didn't try to transfer pictures but I tried to transfer some of my backups and other files and it won't let me. Very, very annoying and frustrating...anybody got a work around for this?

worked for me. i plugged in, it automatically selected debugging, etc. Then i chose open/view files, and created a folder and moved files into it.

I have the same issue moving even a single image to "Computer\Galaxy Nexus\Internal Storage\DCIM\Camera" using MTP, PTP, and debugging mode.

I transferred some MP3s to the Music folder and the images to the root folder. Both of these worked.

When you connect, you get the notification for "connected as media device". Tap that and it brings up an option to connect as a camera. Not sure if that will help or not, but, seems like the problems are with photos and I remembered seeing that earlier...

I have the same problem. Music transferred fast but pictures it will copy 2 and just sit at the progress bar with no progress. I'll have to research tomorrow.

When I try to transfer files it seems to lose connectivity after awhile. Anyone else having this issue?

Also why does it always say the files may not work on the device? They are .mp3 and .mp4 files.

SAME ISSUE!

I copied all my music and other files just fine. When I got to my pictures it just freezes after one gets transferred. Very frustrating.

i was able to explore files on the nexus and tranfer pics in to the 100android file under DCIM, and rename the file. had debugging on, windows 7.

FWIW, I use Picasa for most of my photos, Google music for....well....music and dropbox for other files I need to transfer. I try to keep very little actually on my phones just in case something happens to it.

I'm a little worried about this. Drag & drop should be a feature of all android phones.

Oh well, I need to stop worrying about something I don't even have in my possession yet. Worse case scenario, I'll be the owner of a Rezound.

I found out when you open the nexus on your computer, go the the files... find the picture folder.... delete it, then make a new file and name it whatever you want. After that drag and drop all the files into that folder and it works like a charm!

I had no trouble transferring music, pictures, and ringtones. I just connected by GN usine USB, Windows 7 recognized it, and I transferred media easily.

My issue is when I plug my phone into my MAC it doesn't recognized it, but it does when plugged into my PC.

This bug that's stated above with transfering pics must be applicable to Windows only. I just transfered all my old phone pics to my GNex with the Android File Transfer from my Mac to the DCIM folder without an issue.
