transfering files

I have the Tab 2 7.0. Love it.
I would like to know if it is possible to transfer files (videos) from a Backup drive (seagate) to my tab without a PC. Traveling and would like to not have the PC as a file manager. I would like to find a adapter and connect to the backup drive and have the Tab do the work of moving files?
First question is the Tab capable of this? will it see the drive?
Second would I just need a USB connector? Amazon.com: Samsung EPL-1PL0BEGXAR USB Connection Kit: Electronics

I know there is Drop Box. But I dont want the files to automatically stored on my Tab (I have never used, but it sounds like when you add files on PC they automaticaly sync to Tab?)

Dropbox stores the files in the cloud so when you create an account you can access your files from any device anywhere. Then you have the option to either download or view as they are.

Anpther option is to use a OEM USB OTG Connection Kit & Card Reader and connect the backup drive to the Tab.
