Help Transfering old sd card data to new sd card

Hey guys i got my galaxy s2 yesterday and i'm trying to transfer all my apps and data from my mytouch 3g slide. I already got all the apps transferred but i can't seem to get some of the data from the other apps restored.

I got a new 32gb micro sd card and i copied everything from the old sd card to the new sd card before installing the new sd card in the galaxy s2. I was able to restore some of the stuff but my notes app and hide it pro app aren't finding my back ups.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Also what's a good battery and settings app, i use to use my settings but it has to many adds.

Thanks in advance

I think one of the problems is that your Mytouch Slide had no expanded memory on the phone itself while your SGS2 does. Your old sd card contains data that should be copied to the new phone's internal SD partition. They both were mounted at /sdcard in the phone's file system.

I just figured that out. So should i just copy the stuff from the old sd onto the internal sd card of the galaxy s2? What would the external sd card be good for then?

App data and files the phone will need like ringtones and background images should go on the internal partition. Everything else can go wherever you like.

I did exactly this yesterday! I took my old 16gb msdc and tried to copy the contents to my new 32gb msdc would not copy all the contents I had some folders with no sub folders and files and all sorts of other combinations.

So I disconnected the cable took the old card OUT of the handset and put it into a card reader connected to my PC. Then I did a Ctrl A then Ctrl C and copied All the files and directories to a folder on my desktop I did a comparison and hey presto everything was now there.

Then put my new card into the reader and copied the whole lot onto that put it into my handset and it worked like a dream!
