From the warranty booklet: "SAMSUNG TELECOMMUNICATIONS AMERICA, L.P. ("SAMSUNG") warrants to the original purchaser ("Purchaser")..."

Now you don't necessarily need the receipt to redeem the warranty, so it's not like they have any way of knowing you're not the original owner; but with no documentation at all, you might have a hard time. I'd imagine the original packaging would more than suffice, or at least the UPC from the box.
