Help Transferring Data From the Desire to Sensation Using the Transfer App

I'm trying to transfer contacts and messages from a HTC Desire to a HTC Sensation. If I used the HTC Transfer app would it transfer all messages including any MMS messages stored on the phone? I know the app is pretty useless when trying to transfer data from phones by other manufacturers, but I wanted feedback from people who have used it to transfer data from one HTC device to another.

I've not used it, but I've heard it's flaky at best.

Your contacts should be synced to your google account. Instructions on how to do so here. There's also an app that should do SMS/MMS messages called SMS Backup and Restore.

Thanks for that. I have used that app before, but unfortunately it does not support MMS. I hope HTC release something that is similar to Samsung Kies during MWC or sort out http://www.htcsense.com. It had so much potential, but most of us can't use it !

Yeah, htcsense turned out to be a bit of a shambles.

Have you tried MyPhoneExplorer, I know it does SMS, it might well do MMS too

I haven't heard of that app before, but after doing a bit of research on it I heave learnt that it doesn't support MMS either.

If it's enough for you to save just pictures, videos or audios of your MMS on the SD card you might use 'Save MMS'.

The free app shows you all medias of your MMS and you can decide which media files you want to save on the SD card

The paid version of the app saves automatically all media files of your MMS on the SDcard.

Thanks for that, but I'm ideally looking for something that can make a like for like copy of all my messages.

I don't suppose anybody knows if HTCSense.com stores multimedia messages as well as text messages? If so, I may just have to wait till HTC gives me access to the service.
