Help Transferring Files to SD

Okay I have got a quick question: When I hook up my phone to my computer it gives me options and I know it isnt Charge Only but which of the other three let me put files and stuff on my sd card?

Use the USB cable that came with your Bionic.

When connected use the notification pull-down menu
select USB connection
select USB mass storage

On the PC with file explorer display computer

There should be two devices
SD Card (I call mine BIONIC SD)
SD-Ext Card (I call mine BIONIC SD-E)

If the SD Card is not displayed
With the Bionic still connected
Power off the Bionic
Power on the Bionic and respond to any logon stuff you have (I use No Lock and have none)

The SD-Ext device will come up first
About 10 seconds after you are completly up on the Bionic the SD device should appear

I don't remember the original names on the PC. I immediatly renamed them to fit into my naming scheme.

If I had to guess ... they are probably the names you quoted ... MOT and NO NAME ... the names are stored on the cards.

When I finished putting my stuff from my old phone onto my new SD card it says all my apps that i put on my sd card are corrupt. Is there a fix for this?

I recommend that you get the apps through App Market. It will have a record of what you got in the past. Some of them you will choose not to install.

For stuff you got outside the market you need an .apk file for each on one of your cards and then you select it and choose intall.

For stuff fgrom a developer site ... do whatever they recommend.

This is the ideal time to get rid of stuff you have been putting off.

We were talking about transferring some MP3 files and not installing apps.

No I was transferring mp3s and pictures. But when I was done and unplugged my phone it said preparing SD card and I had previously saved some apps to my sd card. Before the transfer and now it says all my apps that were on my sd card are corrupt and can't be opened.

(I was confused with another thread.)

This needs to be a little more precise. Do you mean you have some .apk files on your SD card that you can not install or do you mean something else?

I have folders on my SD and SD-Ext cards that have .apk files. If I use File Manager and click on any of them they go into the instal process.

Is this what you are saying you can not do?

No I have installed apps on my sd card and when ever my sd card is being prepared after I have been transferring a random thing it says that the apps that are installed on my sd card are corrupt

I admit to being lost.

I assume you are saying you moved Apps to the SD-Ext card (the removable one).

I am not aware of anyone running Apps from the SD-Ext card. Everyone is pretty happy with the 8GB or so available on the SD card (the internal non-removable one) and use the SD-Ext card strictly for data.

There is appaently a fairly high-priced SD-Ext card that is fast enough to support running Apps from it. I have no more information about it.

I don't know if I "guessed" correctly.

There are two SD Card locations - SDCard (the internal storage) and SDCard-ext (the actual SDCard).

If you find anyone running Apps from the SD-Ext card ... please let us know.

They changed the names with the Bionic and I suggest you use them ...

SD Card is internal storage and is not removable
SD-Ext Card is the removable card

When you look at them ysin Files on the Bionic they are labeled

Internal phone storage
SD Card

Using the term "SD Card" on the Bionic is VERY ambiguous.

A possible reason for the name changing on the Bionic is assumed to be for consistency with ICS when it is released. (I don't know how true that is.)
