Traveling to India

I have an LG Optimus V with Virgin Mobile in the US and will be traveling to India for a few weeks. I'd like to take it with me to use my apps, what will happen to the 3g and voice connection? Will it just stop working once I leave the borders or do I need to worry that I could still receive calls/Internet and have to pay hefty fees?

I'm assuming there is no option to use this phone in India right?

You're right, idoun, your V voice and data will only work on Sprint towers in the US.

You can get grooveip and use it as a voip phone through Google voice and WiFi if you have access to it. I would put it in airplane mode or it will constantly be searching for a signal and drain your battery.

Of course there are! You can still use the phone just like any Wifi-only device (think tablet or iPod touch). When you are within range of an accessible Wifi network, you can still make and receive calls via Skype or other VOIP telephony solutions. You can also use the web and email, of course.

Since there is no foreign roaming on VMU ever under any circumstances, you don
