Root Tried changing bootanimation.......

now I lost the Motorola logo at the beginning. I overwrote the original one with mine but mine didnt show up. I tried doing it in terminal but it said overwrite protected. any help to get a bootanimation on my x would be appreciated. This is my first day with the X. I had the OG droid before this.

the boot logo and the boot animation are two different things, have you lost or broken the droid x eye boot animation and the motorola boot logo?

for the boot logo do a search on droid forums for boot logo replacer, there is a huge thread with a ton of boot logos you can custom flash to your phone using clockwork, including stock motorola symbol. they download in a zip format, drop on your sd card, boot into recovery and flash like a rom (but it will only change the boot logo, it wont touch anything else).

for the animation find a boot animation zip (you can find them on almost all android forum sits in zip format for download) and drop the file into your /data/local folder in root explorer or in your /system/media folder. I preferred putting boot animations in the data partition since its part of the 8 gigs of internal memory that moto in all its glory put in the phone strictly for app storage.

Hey thans foir the quick resonse. For some reason the boot logo dissapearred but it came back. I also used the terminal emulator to get the bootanimation I wanted.
